We stand behind the work we do. This page sets out exactly what that means, in plain terms, so there is no confusion later.
This policy applies to our own customers. If your repair was arranged through a home warranty company, their coverage applies instead — see below.
Our 30-day labor warranty
Every repair we carry out comes with a 30-day labor warranty on the work performed. If the fault we repaired comes back within those 30 days, we return and put it right, and you do not pay us again for that labor.
The 30 days begin on the day the agreed work is completed — meaning the day you have looked at it and confirmed the job is done, not the day we were booked or the day a part arrived.
The warranty covers the system we worked on — not the whole appliance. That distinction matters, so here is what it means in practice.
An example
Say you call us because your oven will not bake, and we diagnose and replace the bake element.
- Covered: the oven stops baking again two weeks later for a reason connected to the element or the work we did to fit it. That is our repair, and we come back for it.
- Not covered: the control board fails three weeks later. That is a separate component that we did not diagnose, quote for or touch. It is a new fault and a new repair.
The test we apply is simple: if the problem is directly associated with the work we agreed to do, it is covered. An unrelated part of the same appliance failing afterwards is a coincidence of timing, not a comeback on our repair.
Appliances are collections of independent systems, and an older machine can have more than one thing wrong with it. We would rather be straight about that up front than have it come as a surprise.
Parts
The parts warranty varies depending on where the part is sourced. Different manufacturers and suppliers offer different coverage on the same component, so there is no single figure we can honestly quote for every job.
What we can do is tell you the coverage on the specific part before we fit it. Ask, and we will tell you what that part carries.
Why we ask to supply the parts
We strongly recommend letting us source the parts and materials for your repair. It is not about the markup — it is the only way we can stand behind the whole job.
When we buy the part, we know where it came from, we know it is the correct component for your model, and we can pursue the supplier if it turns out to be faulty. That lets us back both the part and the labor.
If you supply your own part
We will still fit a part you have bought yourself. But we cannot warranty a part we did not source, and we have no way to verify where it came from or whether it is the right specification for your appliance.
If a customer-supplied part fails, or turns out to be the wrong component, the return trip is a new visit rather than a warranty call. We will always tell you this before we start, not afterwards.
What “completed” means
Completed means the appliance is working again — sometimes to the best result the machine is capable of, which is not always the result it gave you when it was new.
The usual reason is parts. On older appliances the manufacturer’s original part is often discontinued, and the only option is a quality aftermarket equivalent. A good aftermarket part restores proper function, but it can behave slightly differently — a dryer cycle that runs a little longer, an element that heats at a slightly different rate.
We will tell you before we fit it if that is the situation you are in, so you can decide. A repair that works properly is still covered; a machine that behaves a little differently from new because no original part exists is not a fault in our work.
Home warranty customers
We accept work from home warranty companies. If your repair came to us that way, your home warranty company’s coverage applies, and ours does not. The two do not stack, overlap or extend one another.
That is not us stepping back from the work. It is that your agreement is with them: they authorize the repair, they decide what is covered, and they set the terms you agreed to when you bought the plan. If something goes wrong afterwards, your claim goes through them, and they dispatch us back out.
The 30-day labor warranty on this page is for customers who hire us directly.
Making a recall claim
If we were your direct repair company, call us on 910-748-8423 and say it is a recall on a repair we carried out. Tell us roughly when we visited and what we worked on, and we will find the job. If your repair came through a home warranty company, start with them instead.
Do not wait it out. A fault that comes back is easier to sort while the visit is recent, and while your 30 days are still running.
Questions
If anything here is unclear before you book, ask us on the phone. We would much rather explain it once at the start than argue about it at the end.
