Whole House Water Filtration

Whole-house water treatment for hard water, chlorine taste, iron staining and sediment — installed, serviced and maintained. We are a licensed Puronics dealer.

Sound familiar?

These are the faults we are called out for most often on this appliance. Any of them is worth a phone call.

  • Spots and film on dishes and glassware
  • Scale building up on faucets, fixtures and appliances
  • Rust or orange staining in sinks, tubs and laundry
  • Water smells or tastes of chlorine
  • Skin and hair feel dry after a shower
  • Soap and detergent never seem to lather
  • An existing softener or filter has stopped working

Hard water is the quiet one. It does not break anything today — it just leaves scale in the water heater, film on the glassware, and slowly shortens the life of every appliance it runs through. By the time you notice, it has usually been at work for years.

A whole-house system treats the water where it enters the property, so every tap, shower, toilet and appliance in the house gets treated water — not just the one faucet with a filter screwed onto it.

Water around Fayetteville is genuinely hard

Water in this area commonly tests between 7 and 11 grains per gallon, which is the range from moderately hard to very hard. That is high enough to scale a water heater, shorten the life of a dishwasher, and leave the film you keep scrubbing off the shower door. Your own number will differ street to street, and on a well it can differ from your neighbour — which is why we test rather than assume.

We are a licensed Puronics dealer

Puronics has been building residential water treatment equipment for decades and sells only through authorised local dealers rather than off a shelf. We are one of them, which means we can specify, install, warranty and service their equipment properly — and get genuine parts and media when it needs attention years down the line.

Their systems use a filter media called SilverShield® HYgene®, which carries a silver ion originally developed to keep astronauts’ drinking water safe in spacecraft. The silver inhibits bacteria from growing inside the filter bed itself — the part of a water system nobody ever sees and everybody forgets about.

What we can treat

  • Hardness and scale — the calcium and magnesium that fur up water heaters, kettles and shower screens
  • Chlorine and chloramine — the municipal disinfectant taste and smell
  • Iron — the orange staining in sinks, tubs and on laundry
  • Sediment — grit and cloudiness, common on well water
  • Taste and odour — the general reason people stop drinking from the tap

Softener, no-salt, or neither

A traditional softener exchanges hardness minerals for sodium and is still the most effective answer to genuinely hard water. It needs salt topping up and a drain connection.

A no-salt conditioner does not remove hardness — it changes how the minerals behave so they are far less likely to form scale. No salt to buy, no drain needed. It suits people on sodium-restricted diets or with septic concerns, and it suits moderately hard water better than severe.

Which one is right depends on what is actually in your water. Sometimes the answer is neither, and we will say so.

Drinking water systems

Whole-house treatment handles the water running through the house. If you also want a dedicated drinking supply at the kitchen sink, a point-of-use system fits underneath and feeds its own faucet — often alongside a whole-house system rather than instead of one.

We start with a water test

  • We test your water — city or well, the numbers differ street to street
  • We show you the results and explain which of them actually matter for your house
  • We recommend a system sized to your household, not the biggest one in the catalogue
  • We install it and show you how it works before we leave
  • We service it afterwards — media changes, salt, settings and repairs

We also service and repair water treatment equipment we did not install, including other manufacturers. If your existing softener has stopped regenerating or your filter has not been changed in longer than you would care to admit, that is an ordinary call for us.

Not sure what you need?

Most people call because of something specific — spotted glasses, orange staining, a smell, or a system that has quit. Tell us what you are seeing and we will start there rather than selling you a system before we know what is in the water.

Questions

The things people ask before they book

Do you charge for the visit?

We will explain any diagnostic charge when you book, before anyone drives out to you. You will never be surprised by a number on the day.

How soon can someone come out?

Call us and we will tell you the soonest we can get to you. We work Monday through Friday, and we will give you a realistic answer rather than one that sounds good on the phone.

Is it worth repairing, or should I replace it?

If the repair costs more than the unit is worth to you, or it is near the end of its service life, we will say so. We would rather lose one job than sell you a repair you regret.

Which brands do you work on?

All the major residential brands. Our technicians are expertly trained across the makes most common in homes around here. If we cannot get a part for your model, we will tell you before you commit to anything.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We stand behind what we do. We will go over exactly what is covered on your particular repair at the time we give you the price.

What do you work on besides appliances?

We started in appliance repair and still do plenty of it, but we now also handle HVAC, residential electrical work and water filtration. If you are not sure whether something falls to us, just ask.

Which water treatment systems do you install?

We are a licensed Puronics dealer, so we can specify, install, warranty and service their equipment properly — and get genuine media and parts for it years later. We also service and repair water treatment equipment from other manufacturers, including systems we did not install. Either way we test your water first and recommend from the results, not from a catalogue.

Do you work with military families?

Very much so. We are close to Fort Bragg and a good share of our customers are active duty, veterans or military spouses. Tell us your situation when you call — including if you are working around a PCS or a deployment — and we will do what we can to fit around it.
