Electrical Repairs

Ceiling fans, light fixtures, switches and outlets — small residential electrical repairs and replacements, done properly.

Sound familiar?

These are the faults we are called out for most often on this appliance. Any of them is worth a phone call.

  • Ceiling fan wobbles, hums or has stopped turning
  • Light fixture has stopped working or needs replacing
  • Wall switch does not work or feels warm
  • Outlet is dead, loose or will not hold a plug
  • Dimmer switch buzzes or makes lights flicker
  • Replacing a fan or fixture where one is already fitted

Not every electrical job needs a full rewire quote. Most of what goes wrong in a house is small, self-contained and fixable in one visit — a fan that has started wobbling, a switch that no longer does anything, an outlet that will not hold a plug any more.

What we handle

  • Ceiling fans — repairs, replacements, and fans that wobble, hum or have stopped turning
  • Light fixtures — repair and replacement, indoors and out
  • Switches — standard, three-way and dimmers
  • Outlets — dead sockets, loose sockets, and replacements

What we do not take on

We keep to small repairs and replacements. Panel upgrades, rewiring, new circuits and service changes are a different trade with different licensing, and we would rather point you to the right person than take on work that is not ours. Ask us and we will tell you straight which side of the line your job falls on.

Stop and call somebody straight away if…

You can smell burning, see scorch marks around an outlet or switch, or a breaker trips again the moment you reset it. Stop using that circuit. Those are not small repairs, and they are not worth waiting on.

Not sure whether your job is a small one? Describe it to us on the phone. It takes a minute and it costs you nothing to find out.

Questions

The things people ask before they book

Do you charge for the visit?

We will explain any diagnostic charge when you book, before anyone drives out to you. You will never be surprised by a number on the day.

How soon can someone come out?

Call us and we will tell you the soonest we can get to you. We work Monday through Friday, and we will give you a realistic answer rather than one that sounds good on the phone.

Is it worth repairing, or should I replace it?

If the repair costs more than the unit is worth to you, or it is near the end of its service life, we will say so. We would rather lose one job than sell you a repair you regret.

Which brands do you work on?

All the major residential brands. Our technicians are expertly trained across the makes most common in homes around here. If we cannot get a part for your model, we will tell you before you commit to anything.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We stand behind what we do. We will go over exactly what is covered on your particular repair at the time we give you the price.

What do you work on besides appliances?

We started in appliance repair and still do plenty of it, but we now also handle HVAC, residential electrical work and water filtration. If you are not sure whether something falls to us, just ask.

Which water treatment systems do you install?

We are a licensed Puronics dealer, so we can specify, install, warranty and service their equipment properly — and get genuine media and parts for it years later. We also service and repair water treatment equipment from other manufacturers, including systems we did not install. Either way we test your water first and recommend from the results, not from a catalogue.

Do you work with military families?

Very much so. We are close to Fort Bragg and a good share of our customers are active duty, veterans or military spouses. Tell us your situation when you call — including if you are working around a PCS or a deployment — and we will do what we can to fit around it.
